Family Fun as Cups are Won
Saturday´s June 4th´s games took a toll on more than one person as 12 teams travelled to Tres Cantos outside of Madrid for the G.A.A. Iberian Final.
Six men's teams and six ladies teams, kicked off a day of Gaelic football which resulted in another trophy for the mighty Madrid Harps men's team.
The ladies team was less fortunate despite exceptional team work, hard kicking, high jumping and fighting hard for every single ball in play.
The Madrid Harps is more of a family of footballers and with a children's team too, the whole family can get involved and indeed partners played on different fields for the mens and ladies teams, knowing that their children still had to be brought to training in the morning.
The Irish ambassador David Cooney came along to present the medals and trophies and got to witness the festivities as well as the games as two teams showered each other in cava and filled their recently won cups, to celebrate their wins.
With the kids team playing the next morning and everyone exhausted from the day´s tournament, I am sure not everyone might be so eager to get up in the morning.
Thank you Fillas, Irmandinhas, Estrella, Valancia and Seville. Well done, hard luck and Venga niños.
